Front Desk Coordinator

Central Maryland Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice is seeking an energetic, patient-focused, organized, detail-oriented Front Desk Coordinator. This role greets patients, schedules appointments, answers phones, manages administrative records. The Front Desk Coordinator keeps the office organized and running smoothly. We hold ourselves to the highest standard of excellence while providing quality patient care in a comfortable, family-oriented environment. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain rapport with patients, staff and insurance carriers.

This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:30. Offers benefits, paid vacation, paid holidays.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Greet patients, check them in, verify information and forms
• Develop and maintain doctor schedules
• Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments
• Confirm upcoming appointments
• Inform patients of dental office procedures and treatments
• Enter all patient information into the data system
• Maintain and manage patient records in compliance with privacy and security regulations
• Arrange patient charts for next day appointments
• Prepare and mail billing statements
• Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
• Maintain professional and clean patient reception area
• Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Time management skills
• Adaptable and flexible to work in a fast-paced work environment
• Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI
• Knowledge of insurance plans, in and out of network
• Knowledge of dental terminology or medical terminology and procedures

Education and Experience:
• Minimum two years’ dental or medical office billing
• Experience with medical and/or dental billing, including ICD-10
• Experience working with computer programs: Word, Outlook, Excel
